Drizz'l Why do we keep Bikke on the team anyway?
Garland He shares common goals and interests with us. Plus, even with him, we're still one short of a complete Dark Warriors team.
Bikke And I'm a cutthroat, bloodthirsty pirate what do be valuin' ye lives as only slightly less than dirt, and the only thing stoppin' me from killin' ye outright is that ye put me in ye little club. Yar.
Garland And there's that too.
Meanwhile, back in Dwarf Land...
Black Mage I submit that you're wrong and stupid, RM.
Red Mage Big surprise...
Black Mage If your illusion spell allows us to see our true selves as a side effect of duping the rest of the world into thinking we're dwarves, then why do we look like our ordinary selves? Everyone knows that visions of one's true self are supposed to be trippy and reveal hidden truths about one's inner nature.
Thief Maybe we are who we are.
Black Mage You just blew my mind, man.
Thief Thus unburdened by the layers of deceit and the masks of society, we are not bound by the fears that plague the everyman. We may therefore embrace the Nietzschean Super-Us. That sounds like the ingredients for great heroes like what we are supposed to be.
Black Mage Fighter is the only one of us so uncomplicated to be who he really thinks he is. And that has less to do with moral strength than it does with a complete lack of intelligence. Hardly what I would call a road to knowledge of the self.
Red Mage Or it could be that you're taking it too literally. The nature of my illusion spell makes it so people basically see what they want to see. Dwarves want to see other dwarves, so that's what they get. It's the perfect disguise.
Black Mage Then why are you still wearing a dress?
Red Mage Don't judge me.
